Privacy
The short version: cloudpunk.blog is a static website. It doesn't run analytics, doesn't have forms, doesn't have a login, and doesn't track you. The longer version is below — and it's still pretty short.
What this site does
cloudpunk.blog serves static HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and images from AWS S3 via Amazon CloudFront. There is no database. There are no user accounts. There are no comment threads, contact forms, or email-collection inputs hosted on this domain.
What gets collected
Reading a page on this site means your browser sends an HTTPS request to CloudFront. AWS keeps standard server-side request logs that include your IP address, the time of the request, the URL you asked for, your user-agent string, and the response code. Those logs exist so that the site can be served reliably and so I can spot abusive traffic. They are not used to profile you or sold to anyone, and they are retained no longer than necessary.
Cookies
This site does not set any cookies of its own. It does not load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, or any other third-party analytics or advertising script.
External links
Posts link out to other websites (AWS docs, RFCs, the book on Apress/Amazon, LinkedIn). What those sites collect when you visit them is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
Links to the book that go through awin1.com or
link.springer.com are affiliate-tracked. If you order the book via
one of those links, the publisher reports the sale back to a tracking ID that
identifies the author. Your personal details (name, address, payment information)
go to the publisher, not to me.
Your data, anywhere on my side
I don't hold any personal data from readers of this site. If you ever wrote to me through a previous version of cloudpunk.blog that had a contact form (the Wix-hosted edition), that data is being cleaned up as part of the migration off Wix and is not carried over.
Changes to this policy
If anything material changes — for example if I add an analytics tool or a newsletter form — I'll update the date at the top of this page. Substantive changes will also be flagged in the blog itself.
